21ST CONFERENCE ON FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

The Conference of Financial Institutions is a forum created in 1980 under the auspices of the Bank of Tanzania for exchanging views and experiences on issues about the financial sector and economy in general. COFI is a biennial event that brings together heads of financial institutions in the country and other stakeholders. This year’s 21st Conference of Financial Institutions (COFI) was held on the 7th & 8th of March 2024 in Arusha, Tanzania with the theme of “Strengthening Financial Sector Resilience Economic Times”. Experienced domestic and international speakers are expected to share experiences on the subject matter.

BANKERS FOOTIE TOURNAMENT'S FINAL AUGUST 2024

On August 1st, the TBA Footie Tournament Finals kicked off with an inspiring speech from our chairman Theobald Sabi, who highlighted the tournament’s significance in promoting health, networking, and wellness among banks. Mr. Sabi announced that the event will now officially start on July 1st of every year. The day concluded with Diamond Trust Bank triumphing over CRDB Bank in the final, securing the championship title. Participants also enjoyed the rede challenge, golf, and ball and drum challenge.

TBA INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

As a norm, Tanzania Bankers Association hosted the “TBA IWD EVENT 2024” on 4th March 2024, at Onomo Hotel Dar es Salaam. Where this year’s theme “Inspire Inclusion” aligned with our commitment to foster inclusivity and diversity in the banking fraternity and at large. The Guest of Honor Mr. Geofrey Mchangila who is the Vice Chairman of the Tanzania Bankers Association and the CEO of CITIBANK Tanzania gave an inspiring story and highlighted the remarkable progress made in the financial sector towards diversity and inclusion.
